Blue Ridge Insurance Services, Inc. was established by Karin K. Flagle in Harrisonburg, VA in 2006. Our original office was located in a leased office space with only six people on staff. At that time we focused on health insurance and life insurance for our clients. Thanks to our dedicated team and great, loyal clients, we were quickly able to expand and add a property and casualty insurance division.

In 2007, Blue Ridge Insurance Services, Inc. was appointed with Erie Insurance Group—one of the highest-rated carriers in the area—and our property and casualty division was born. New people were hired, more carriers were soon added, and as new opportunities took shape, our office space started to get crowded!

In 2009, we began the search for a larger space. Our founder, Karin, looked at many locations, but one vacant building that she had originally passed on due to its need for extensive renovations stuck in her mind. After a second tour, Karin and her team were able to see the building for what it could be instead of the mess it was.

In 2010, we closed on the building and began the process of bringing our vision into reality. It was a rewarding experience to bring the abandoned building back to life—almost as rewarding as helping our clients improve their insurance policies!

In 2010, when our renovations were complete, we left our cramped offices for our beautiful “new” building. We completely remodeled the interior and beautified the exterior, which was much appreciated by the neighborhood. Our building includes individual offices for each team member, offering comfort and privacy to our clients when they come in to meet with their agent.

Blue Ridge Insurance Services, Inc. has been blessed with rapid growth since Karin started the agency back in 2006. The original staff of six has tripled. We are eternally grateful for a great group of clients who have entrusted us with their insurance needs, and we strive every day to provide them with the outstanding and dedicated service they deserve.
